Funds raised from the 2012 Gala will be used to provide care to patients in the community.

VNA GALA 2012

On April 28, VNA Health Care hosted its annual Gala fundraiser at The Q Center in St. Charles.

Business partners and supporters of the not-for-profit were in attendance to celebrate a successful year of providing compassionate medical care to more than 50,000 men, women, and children. The event raised over $70,000 with proceeds supporting the Aurora Community Heart Clinic, located within VNA Health Center at 400 N Highland Avenue in Aurora. The Aurora Community Heart Clinic is a collaborative effort of the Fox Valley Heart Foundation and VNA. The Clinic was organized when Dr. Santosh Gill, founder of the Fox Valley Heart Foundation, recognized a need in the community for cardiac care. For many years, Dr. Gill volunteered her time for a monthly clinic at VNA Health Center, offering cardiology consultations to uninsured patients. When it quickly became apparent that a monthly clinic staffed by one dedicated cardiologist could not begin to satisfy the demand for services, Dr. Gill stepped up to lead the collaborative effort to the start a weekly clinic. The funds raised from VNA’s Gala will pay for treatment for hundreds of uninsured patients who receive life-saving care from the Aurora Community Heart Clinic.

In an era of big-business medicine, where patients are treated like numbers and potential profits dictate the quality of care, VNA’s humanitarian approach stands out. Generous sponsors of this annual event make it possible for VNA to provide care to all those in need.
