WE NEED YOUR HELP!Congress is reviewing a proposed 15% cut to the Medicare Hospice benefitWhat does this mean to VNA? 95% of our revenue comes from Medicare. We could potentially lose hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue, greatly impacting the viability of our program. What can you do to help? We need you to contact your local government officials and encourage them to REJECT any votes regarding this issue. Send a letter to your local officials. You can cut and paste the letter below into a Word Document to mail, fax or e-mail to your representative. Date_________ Dear ___________________: Hospice care is provided by a team of professionals including physicians, nurses, social workers and spiritual caregivers that work together to bring quality of life to individuals facing a life limiting illness. VNA Hospice has provided quality, compassionate end-of-life care to patients and their families since 1993. This non-profit organization provides a vital service to our community. I urge you to protect the Medicare hospice reimbursement rates. The Administration's budget proposal contains a number of proposed reductions to the reimbursement structure for hospice programs. Any cuts to the Medicare Hospice Benefit would mean drastic changes for our hospice program and could limit access to our high quality form of care. While you and your colleagues continue work on the federal budget proposal, I ask your continued support for VNA Hospice as they provide this most necessary service to those of your constituents facing a life-limiting illness and their families. We respectfully ask you to reject any proposal that would impose cuts to the Medicare hospice reimbursement rates.
